COFAC is a non-profit cooperative, responsible for managing the Universidade Lusófona, recognized by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education in 1998, is the largest private university in Portugal and includes 10 Higher Education Institutions in Portugal, Brazil, Cape Verde , Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau. It has a student body of more than 10,000 students and 875 professors and is structured into 10 (ten) Schools that constitute the main institutional unit and offer 41 Bachelors, 46 Masters, 11 Doctoral Programs and 71 Postgraduate Courses. In addition, the university offers a large number of professional and in-service training courses in line with the lifelong learning development paradigm. The University has extensive experience in research and project management of European and international projects. Currently, the University has 8 (eight) research units in various scientific areas that include more than 400 researchers and regularly promote scientific projects and initiatives. The University is organized into several independent units.
